Located at Landwehrstraße 43, 80336 München-Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt, Western Union operates as a wechselstuben serving München in Bayern. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as geldüberweisungsdienst, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Banks, insurers and money services in Germany are tightly regulated, but products differ in fees, rates and paperwork. Bring your passport or ID card and your Anmeldung certificate to open a Girokonto, ask for the total cost including account fees, and keep every statement. Branches keep weekday hours only, often with a lunch break and one late afternoon; ATMs (Geldautomaten) within your own bank's group, whether Sparkassen, Volksbanken or the Cash Group, are free, while others may charge a fee.

Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 09:30–13:30. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 59989043. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak.

Its Google rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 59 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect before you commit to a visit.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.
