Besonders bemerkenswert sind die lange Wallfahrtstradition und die Kreuzreliquie, die in St. Maria Thalkirchen verehrt wird. Sie geht auf einen Kreuzpartikel zurück, den Herzog Albrecht III. der Kirche bereits im 15. Jahrhundert stiftete und der den Ausgangspunkt der Wallfahrt nach Thalkirchen bildete. Auch der Kirchenbau selbst ist kunsthistorisch durchaus interessant. Die reiche Innenausstattung mit viel Gold ist allerdings Geschmackssache – persönlich ist sie mir etwas zu üppig. Insgesamt verleiht die Verbindung von Kunstgeschichte, Wallfahrtstradition und Kreuzverehrung der Kirche jedoch eine besondere Bedeutung.

Der Gottesdienst war sehr gut organisiert und die Atmosphäre war herzlich. Ich möchte nur höflich anmerken, dass es hilfreich wäre, wenn der Pfarrer etwas langsamer oder deutlicher sprechen könnte – für diejenigen von uns, die Deutsch nicht als Muttersprache haben. Trotzdem habe ich mich sehr willkommen gefühlt und bin dankbar für die schöne spirituelle Erfahrung.

We were here with #Littlefeet and were amazed. What a pretty church. And did you see the poles with the lights on top and the river saints? The clergy and pilgrims take them with them when they travel down the Isar on the rafts. Apart from that, it's a really pretty church with lots of decorations, ornaments, confessionals and altars. Two points are exciting: 1. lots of information for pilgrims about where they can get what they need and, for example, the Lenten meal. 2. For certain services and masses, a stream is offered in the sanctuary, which can be accessed via the website so that older parishioners and anyone else interested can follow the ceremony live online. This shows once again how imaginative church representatives can sometimes be when it comes to barrier-free faith offerings. Be sure to take a look here. We can only recommend it to you.

Wundervoll gestalte Wallfahrtskirche „St. Maria Thalkirchen“. Erbaut im 14. Jhd zeugt dieser Sakralbau bis heute von der beeindruckenden Baukunst im Spätmittelalter.

After the Holy Mother of God saves two conts from villagers they vowed to build the church in the Name of the Holy Mother. dating back to the 1390 and destroyed during a 30 years war back in the 1600's also received the extension in the beginning of 1900's.The interior of the church contains major works of late medieval art in Upper Bavaria, In 1698, with the completion of the baroque renovation of the church, the late Gothic altar was dissolved.Around the church is the former cemetery with an old wall and historic tombstones and wrought iron crosses,A Lourdes grotto with a figure of Mary was built in the former cemetery. a very peaceful place to pray.
