The educational approach at TUM still remains a mystery for me: what kind of teaching methodology is that when there is absolutely no interaction between students and faculty? Furthermore, the facilities and “campus” itself is not capable of accommodating students preparing for an exam: they almost fight over seats in the public study rooms. As a former American student I had a chance to experience both education systems, and I strongly suggest improvements to the overall methodology and provision of better facilities such as access to one to one tutoring from professors (student tutors are not doing a good job) and more hands on learning in labs, development of housing for international students or a new campus. Most of the answers and “help” I received from university administrators were rather robotic/mechanical than humane, without trying to understand my situation as a student from abroad who encountered such problems for the first time having traveled around the globe before. I was extremely stressed out about finding a place to live and couldn’t focus on my studies both times I tried attending this university. You don’t feel like you’re a student here, just a temporary passe
