Bayern is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Bayern is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I love it here, good for biking. Miles and miles of empty wood and you can just bike for hours without meeting someone...so It's a great place to relax.

Looks nice… but dont follow GPS… GPS dragged me through entire forest (by car) not even warned me about that roads are for bikes and walk… I guess a lot of visitors been surprised when I showed up from forest track with my V8 Dodge challenger R/T on parking lot but from wrong side 😀

This Bavarian forest is a nature reserve where you can have a nice nature walk with your family and observe Przewalski Wild Horses running wild especially during summer. The area was used by the US army for military training so there is a ban leaving the trail in case of running into unexploded ammunition. Located in the southeast part of Erlangen, the forest offers an adventure trail with an impressive diverse flora and fauna.

Tennenloher Forest is the lungs of Erlangen. The vast greenery and the hiking trails are to die for. I visited it in a summer afternoon with my friends. There are a umber of clearings where people can set up for picnics or barbecue. There are some activity points and a bamboo tree house for people to visit. All in all, this was one of the best points of Erlangen.

Despite its past, it is a nice local nature reserve offering tracks for the afternoon stroll. Good to bring the kids for watching the animals out there.
