München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

The guided tour "Jugendstil in Schwabing" was very interesting and we so so much while strolling through mostly quiet streets. We got a lot of backgroud information about the new artistic trends at that time, not only the architecture. Very nice and competent guide!

Very glad I opted for this walking tour on 16 Dec 25 as part of Xmas markets tour of Europe. The walking tour conducted in English on Traditions of Advent & Christmas time in Bavaria/Germany was very informative & entertaining. Our guide Helga was very knowledgeable & passionate on the topic. She also had special traditional biscuits to share which was a tasty & a welcome touch. At the end we got printed info & Gingerbread recipe. Thank you! 😍 Starting from Marionplatz Christkindlmarkt area & through the various squares, alleys, Cathedral & finally ending where we started - this was an immersive one hour of listening & learning! Bavarian traditions are much more steeped in history & culture. So truly enlightening to know more meaningful traditions of Advent & Xmas than the commercial, consumer rubbish it has become these days. I am not even religious but feel traditions are so important in defining cultural identity.

very interesting and even though I was born in Munich, I did not know several details of our history. well worth the money. As a suggestion, it would be nice to offer that service in English as well as we had several international visitors who had trouble following.

The monarchy fled in a bloodless revolution, and Bavaria became a democracy. An overlooked and misunderstood period. Overlooked because short and squeezed between WWI and Weimar Republic. Misunderstood because the Nazis twisted the truth. The key architect murdered on the street in broad daylight by a right-wing conspiracy-theory fanatic. A good tour of the key places in Munich.

To be quite honest, I was disappointed. Although the gentleman responsible for the tour was very knowledgeable, he was long-winded and his time management was poor. We sat in the conference room for almost 2 hours, then lost more time going through the hygiene procedure. Much of what he said was repeated in the film. In addition, the film was accompanied by music coming from speakers at the back, making concentrating on the film text strenuous. In the factory itself, it was very noisy and only a few people standing close to him, could hear anything he said. My suggestion would be that he reduces the factual information, and stick to a better time frame.
