„Foyer-Ausstellung“ zum Tod der Augsburger Schriftkünstlerin Lisa Beck Ein absolut enttäuschender Besuch Im Jahr 2023 erhielt die Staats- und Stadtbibliothek Augsburg aus dem Vorlass der Schriftkünstlerin Lisa Beck, einen größeren Bestand an verschiedensten Arbeiten. Anlässlich des Todes von Lisa Beck im Oktober 2024 zeigt die Bibliothek eine Foyer-Ausstellung. Das Foyer der Bibliothek ist ein kleiner Vorraum mit Metallspinden für die Garderobe, einem Zeitschriftenständer, einer allgemeinen Infotafel mit Aushängen und ganzen zwei Tischvitrinen für die „Ausstellung“. Ein Hinweisschild, Flyer oder gar ein „Schrift“-Plakat gibt es nicht. Die beiden Vitrinen enthalten insgesamt ca. 15 - 16 DIN A4-Formate mit Arbeiten von Lisa Beck. Hinzu kommen noch ein kurzer Lebenslauf, die Todesanzeige und eine kleine Beschreibung der Ausstellung. Aufgrund der kleinen 12-zeilige Beschreibung (auch im Internet verfügbar) erwartet man sich deutlich mehr. Was ist aus dem „größeren Bestand“ des Vorlasses geworden? Dem umfangreichen Schaffen und Werk der Künstlerin wird diese Ausstellung in keiner Weise gerecht. Wenn es, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, nicht zu mehr reicht sollte man es lassen. Räumlic

Im Zusammenhang mit meiner Ahnenforschung war ich, nach vielen Jahren, wieder in der STABI und ich war sehr zufrieden. Sowohl die Anmeldung und Terminver_ einbarung als auch die Ausgabe mit kurzer Beratung waren vorbildlich. Ich habe nur freundliche Mitarbeiter erlebt. Ich komme bald wieder. Günter Manz

Alt-ehrwürdige Bibliothek mit gutem Bestand, den man oft ausleihen kann. Gerade für Geschichte und Regionalthemen empfehlenswert, da durch die Pflichtexemplare vieles vorhanden ist. Scan-Möglichkeiten und Öffnungszeiten aber noch ausbauwürdig. Aber es kommt ja ein An-/ Umbau.

Tolles Gebäude aus den Neunziger Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Buchleihe ist kostenlos, stöbern kann man im Online-Katalog und auch dort gleich bestellen. Dabei gibt es in Staatsbibliothek alles was in Schwaben veröffentlicht wurde und wird - also neben alten wissenschaftlichen und literarischen "Schinken" auch moderne Romane und Sachbücher, bspw. Aus dem Weltbild-Verlag. Tipp: Führungen im Magazin an jedem 2. Freitag im Monat!
