Dachau is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It is quite messy to get in. The only access is through the cateferia where you are supposed to buy the tickets but there are hardly any indications about it. There are equally no indications pointing to the stairs which lead you to the main hall of the palace, which is the only part to see there. Finally, there are no information panels about what you see in the main hall, the focus apparently being on renting the space out for private events. On the other hand, the cakes assortment of the cafeteria is remarkable as well as the sight towards Munich from their terrace.

The visit is only for the first floor as the ground floor is for events and the 2nd floor is not accessible (until this date). It is clean and well entertained. It is a great place for photoshooting and a Must seen when you visit Dachau.

Beautiful palace in Dachau located up on the mountain with beautiful views over the city of Dachau and towards Munich. One can easily spot the O2-Tower as well as the Allianz Arena on clear days you'll see the alpine range in the background. Worth a visit during the whole year. Especially also the gardens where a wide range of flowers and different sorts of apple trees are cultivated.
