For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 am–6:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Sato Café on 030 75630562; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, satocafe.de.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 148 reviews, which is a strong result for a café in Berlin and suggests consistent service.

Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. For directions in Berlin, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

They have the best cakes in Berlin! We got our wedding cake from them, and they prepared it for us so kindly. It was absolutely perfect, and they even provided an elegant cake stand with a lid. The price was very reasonable as well. Because the cake itself was very soft, we had to decorate it ourselves, but that was never a problem. Their breakfast menu is also very reasonably priced, and their Korean noodle soup tastes absolutely amazing! This is really a wonderful cafe in the neighborhood.

This tiny little cafe recently opened up. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they do their best to make their customers happy. When we ordered they double checked if we were okay with the ingredients. We went back a second time for the ice cream and their chocolate orange ice cream is one of the best I've ever had! We often check if we can come in for cake or brunch, but unfortunately they are full often and the weather is not good enough to sit outside. One tiny downside is that the child seat is usually outside so we can't really sit comfortably with our 1 year old
