For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 5 pm–3 am. It is closed on Monday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. For directions in Berlin, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Do you have a NFL game to watch but it’s on late? This is your place then. Salamas Bar is just simply the best. Cool vibe like you’re in your uncle’s living room. Highly recommend for a good time! Go Bills! Cheap easy beers pulled.

Brilliant service and good dive bar atmosphere. Looked after a massive group of us (non-German speaking) students with ease. A great night with even better beer. A bit on the expensive side at 4.50€ for bottled lagers.

Dive sports bar with excellent beer selection. They don't serve food but they allow you to bring in take out from near by restaurants. Affordable and the only bar in Berlin with the NFL gamepass.
