We ordered quite a lot of takeaway food. When I picked it up, everything was packed into one very thin paper bag, even though it was quite heavy. I politely asked for a second paper bag because I was worried the first one would tear during my long walk home. The staff refused and told me, “Use your hand to hold the bag. We don’t have a second paper bag for you.” The food, especially the meat and ribs, had just come out of the oven and was extremely hot. I explained that it was difficult to hold the bag by hand because of the heat, but a staff member working behind the bar simply repeated, “Use your hand. We don’t have a second bag for you.” I have been coming to this restaurant regularly for the past 10 years and have ordered takeaway many times. I have always enjoyed the food, but I was very disappointed by the staff’s attitude during this visit. I know losing one customer may not make a difference to the restaurant, but customer service matters. The way I was treated was unhelpful and dismissive, and I believe other customers should be aware of this experience. Unfortunately, after being a loyal customer for so many years, I won’t be returning.

We visited Rusticana on Sunday, 12 July 2026, after reading many very positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not match them. We ordered steaks from the grill, as these were highly recommended. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we asked several times about the status of our order. First, we were told that the kitchen had unexpectedly needed to prepare food for an outside event, which can happen. Later, the person responsible for the grill came to our table and assured us that the food would be ready within five to eight minutes. Despite this, we waited another 20 minutes. We ordered three steaks: two medium and one well done. Instead, two steaks were served well done, while the steak that was supposed to be well done had clearly been left on the grill for far too long. The waiters acknowledged this themselves. Long waiting times can be understandable, but serving all three steaks incorrectly after such a delay was very disappointing. Perhaps we were simply unlucky, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

I had a really enjoyable evening at Rusticana. The food was excellent and the service was fast and attentive, but what impressed me the most was the communication of the staff and the overall energy of the place. It really felt like everyone enjoyed what they were doing, and that positive attitude was clearly reflected in the guest experience. Seeing people leaving the restaurant happy did not feel like a coincidence. It is not only a place to have good food, but also a place where you simply feel good. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Highly recommended. Super cozy place with low lighting and intimate atmosphere. The spareribs were some of the most delicious and tender I have ever eaten. They are served in a pile on a wood block. I honestly could have eaten another portion.

The ribs were AMAZING!! This restaurant is so cozy and the service is TOP NOTCH! My husband and I had a very busy day visiting the great sites in Munich and surrounding areas so we were exhausted but this place had great service and food and put the nicest touch on our late night dinner. If you go to Munich, you have to check it out! Be sure to make reservations!!
