Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

Opening hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–11 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 2800460. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is ristorantebeimario.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The service was chaotic (they also messed up the bills) and the food clearly below average. The lady that seems to be the boss there just ignores the customers and if a problem arises she just shout at her waiter and refuses to acknowledge the customer's point. This is absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place.

Last night we returned to this restaurant, which we had visited several times before and always enjoyed. We ordered exactly the same dishes as on our previous visit, the Pizza Sorrento and the Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten. We had really liked the food the last time, and since the restaurant is very close to my home, we wanted to become regular customers. One of the reasons for that was also Bruno, one of the waiters, whose friendly personality and attentive service always made us feel welcome. When we ordered the Pizza Sorrento yesterday, a completely different pizza was served. We didn’t make an issue out of it. However, when the risotto arrived, it came with an extremely strong and unpleasant seaweed-like smell. We tried tasting it and even wondered whether the smell was coming from the mussels, so we removed them, but unfortunately the odor remained. We called the waiter who was serving us (it was someone else this time) and politely explained that the risotto smelled so bad that we couldn’t eat it. We also made it clear that we were not trying to complain or cause any trouble, we simply wanted to cancel the dish. Without saying a word, he walked away. After waiting for a whil

Honestly quite disappointing. The Margherita pizza was overloaded with cheese, and it definitely wasn’t mozzarella – something you would never be served in Italy. The pasta was okay, but unfortunately the service was simply poor. As an Italian, I know that Italians are genuinely hospitable and especially child-friendly, but that was definitely not the case here. We were a larger group with several children. Yes, they occasionally walked around a bit, but they were not loud or disturbing anyone. On the contrary, other guests even commented on how sweet the children were. However, the staff was unfriendly and showed no understanding at all. We were told that this is “not a playground,” which felt inappropriate given the situation. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. I honestly don’t understand why it is so busy, although the reviews seem to speak for themselves. I definitely won’t be coming back. Ciao!

This was my favorite pizzaria in the 80s and today it is like time stood still. House made pasta and sauces to die for. The veggies in the Vitrina are as good as anywhere, house wines are good quality and the service, though loose, is very friendly and accommodating. It is a place to go in Munich and a staple on the Italian food scene.

Really great Italian restaurant in a central location in Munich. The wine selection is also great. I ordered a Merlot and if you like sweet I recommend the Lambrusco. I ordered the Risotto alla Mario and it was the most delicious I have ever had. Best of all was the service of the waiters. On all accounts I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner with friends and I will definitely be visiting again.
