REWE

REWE is a supermärkte in Erlangen, Bayern. It is listed at Cumianastraße 4, 91058 Erlangen, which places it among the local businesses of Erlangen that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as lebensmittelhändler, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Before you visit a store like this one, it helps to know what you are looking for and roughly what it should cost; asking for the exact model or brand avoids confusion. Trading hours are set by each state: most shops open Monday to Saturday and close on Sundays and public holidays, with bakeries on Sunday mornings, petrol stations and station shops as the exceptions. Late opening in city centres usually ends at 8 pm.

Opening hours are published for 1 day a week. Typical hours are 07:00–20:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach REWE on 09131 4002946; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is rewe.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 950 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect before you commit to a visit.

Erlangen is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Erlangen, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.
