Papierkiste

This used to be my go-to store for stationery, as they carry not that easy to be found (at least in Munich..) brands like MD and other cool kinds of paper. They recently been having trouble finding staff and it shows. Previous staff knew about what they were selling, could advise. Current staff seems to consist of 20 something year olds who treat the place like a hang-out, more busy chatting with each other than helping customers. Last time I visited, there was even a girl sitting behind the counter eating her dinner, while loudly conversing with her colleagues. Not only does it make me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, but when I ask them anything, they usually have no clue. And these are not complicated questions. They don’t know half of the inventory and don’t seem very interested in finding out. And in this kind of store, you NEED expertise and help. I was recently sold the wrong Kaweco pen clip, because personnel doesn’t know there are several types. Also, after the recent remodeling, all fountain pens except for the Lamy are hidden away in boxes behind the counter. So you need to ask the bored and uninterested staff to show them to you. All in all quite an unpleasant shopping

Super cool staff! Really helpful and nice. Lots of selections, almost anything you can think of, it s there. The only bad part is the prices but they are average I think for this kinda stuff Also, students get a 10% discount

This is the ideal destination for exploring German stationery products, situated in one of the finest districts to experience the best of Munich. The atmosphere is not only welcoming and local but also highly professional.

Papierkiste is my go-to local art supply store! I can find most of my needs here for my personal and freelance projects - from paint, to paper to wood. I see a lot of students here too (they get an additional discount).

They have everything and whatever they happen not to have the very friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to order for you. Prices are really good! Especially for in Munich. Great selection of art supplies and everything model-related.
