Osteria Cuatro Gatos is an italienisch in Bamberg, Bayern. It is listed at Austraße 10, 96047 Bamberg, which places it among the local businesses of Bamberg that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 12–2:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Osteria Cuatro Gatos on 0951 96436680; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is osteria-cuatro-gatos.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 375 reviews, which is a strong result for an italienisch in Bamberg and suggests consistent service.

Bamberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Bamberg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

++ Food was good We had made a reservation for six people. When we arrived at the restaurant it seemed that they had forgotten the reservation. The service was not great, they didn't bring us menus and were constantly confused. The first waiter asked after we had finished our aperitives if we wanted to pay. In the end they didn't bring the main course at all to one of our group member and we had to remind them many many times what we had ordered. All of the employees seemed confused and didn't have any organisation. Cannot recommend this place. There was five waiters/waitresses but no idea how to serve.

Had a really lovely meal here. The service was superb and we were given a lemoncello after our meal. Would recommend if you are visiting Bamberg.

Terrible food! Salads OK, but the bread was stale and both main courses were terrible none of us could finish the main course. The Prosecco was flat and we asked for water, and instead of getting a bottle of water without gas and a bottle of water with gas, we got two glasses of water, mi "gas" water was almost flat. Here is a picture of my Carbonara, you can see the eggs coked with the pasta, it is supposed to be creamy, not lumps of scrambled eggs, I asked for Caprese salad, and instead of getting mozzarella di buffala, I got a ball of burrata cheese with a bunch of lettuce.

The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great and the employees were kind. It was a nice touch to have three various types of sauces for my pizza.

Tasty food, not the greatest service. We sat there for 25 minutes without a menu or someone asking us what we’d like, called the waitress to ask for a menu, then another 20 minutes I had to call her again to say we are ready to order. Had to ask for utensils as well after we got our food. Everyone else had the bread basket as part of dining but we got skipped. Ok experience for tourists. Maybe it’s better for locals and German speaking folks.
