Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–10 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. More information is available on its website, original-berliner-doener.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 1,194 reviews, which is a strong result for a kebab shop in Erlangen and suggests consistent service.
Erlangen is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Erlangen is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Easily the best meat döner I’ve ever had. The bread was great, and the quality of the ingredients was amazing , I've never tasted a döner quite like this. The flavor combination was a wonderful surprise, especially the pomegranate. It was my first time trying pomegranate in a döner, and I absolutely loved it. The added sauces were also delicious. Coming from Turkey, where I’ve tried almost every kind of döner, I can honestly say I’ve never had one this rich and flavorful before. Highly recommended.

I had a great experience here. The döner was generous in size and looked very appetizing. I also liked the wide variety of toppings available, so there’s something for everyone’s taste. They offer both beef and chicken döner, which is a nice option.🤗 My only suggestion would be to balance the filling a bit better, as the extra toppings can sometimes overpower the döner itself. I also think using a little less oil would make it even better. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has a good ventilation system, making it comfortable to dine in. The staff were friendly and efficient. Even though there’s usually a long line, they work quickly, so the wait time is surprisingly short. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place!👌🏻

Kebab was phenomenal but the guy I ordered it from was not nice . He didn’t understand a shit in English and started mumbling when I tried to explain to him my order something random. I even got different thing than I ordered and he forgot fries aswell. Kebab 5/5 but service -5/5. 1 star well deserved. Food tastes better with a good service

I visited Original Berliner Döner in Erlangen and absolutely loved the experience! The döner was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You could really taste the quality of every ingredient — from the crisp vegetables to the juicy, well-seasoned meat and freshly baked bread. It’s clear they use top-quality ingredients, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and welcoming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. It’s also very family-friendly and has a nice community vibe, with many students around that give it a relaxed, lively energy. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Erlangen on the main street — easy to find and close to everything. The staff were fantastic. Everyone was kind and attentive, and the owner himself was there — smiling, humble, and genuinely friendly with every customer. That personal touch really made a difference and elevated the whole experience. And the prices — unbelievably good! The portions are generous, and the food quality is excellent for what you pay. It’s about half the price of what I’d expect to pay in Munich for the same quality, which makes it an even better find. We actua

Yesterday was a sunny day in Erlangen so went out for a walk in City Center and saw this place for a Döner. I tried the Döner box with Pommes and really like the taste. The environment looks very good but unfortunately couldn’t eat inside due to the sunny weather. They also gave the Döner in a paper shopping bag which I have never seen somewhere before, so 5/5 for presentation. From my side, this shop is recommended.
