Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Regensburg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

A wonderful place for authentic South Indian food! Their afternoon combos are especially impressive—well-portioned, reasonably priced, and perfect for a satisfying lunch. The thali options offer a lovely variety of curries, rice, breads, sides, and desserts, making it possible to enjoy several flavours in one meal. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and full of authentic spices without being overly heavy. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely one of the best places in Regensburg for a wholesome and flavourful Indian lunch. Highly recommended!

Oota South Indian Restaurant in Regensburg is a very good place to visit if you are looking for proper South Indian flavors in Germany. It is refreshing to find a restaurant that focuses specifically on South Indian cuisine rather than serving only the more commonly available North Indian dishes. The menu offers a good variety of South Indian specialties, including dosa, idli, vada, biryani, curries, and several vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The food has rich spices and distinctive flavors that remind you of traditional South Indian cooking. The dosa is definitely worth trying, especially with the accompanying chutneys and sambar. I also liked the variety available on the menu, which gives you an opportunity to explore dishes from different parts of South India rather than sticking to the usual Indian restaurant choices. The ambience is pleasant and has a noticeable South Indian cultural touch, which adds character to the dining experience. The restaurant feels casual and comfortable, making it suitable for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The service was good overall, and the experience was enjoyable. There is still some room for improvement in terms of consiste

Food definitely tastes South Indian authentic. Quite spicy enough, tasty enough and quick. Thank god, they represent/ decorated restaurant with usual real pictures than unauthentic drawings or colourful cliche temple umbrellas in Indian restaurants. Being Kannadiga, it was also for me important they severed authentic karnataka food. One negative thing- Vermicelli payasa was not as it’s expected. A running milk with little vermicelli. So dessert was not a thing! Rest absolutely great

It's an authentic South Indian Restaurant serving South Indian delicacies in their original taste. It's run by Kannadigas. Ambience is nice with wall plates of famous South Indian Architectural temples. Service is very good. Taste is awesome. I congratulate and appreciate their venture in showcasing South Indian culinary to Germans and tourists from various countries. For South Indians residing in near by places to Regensburg it's homely taste of meals and snacks
