About Metzgerei Schäbitz
Münchner Metzgerei Schlesisch Bayerisch
Located at Viktualienmarkt 2, 80331 München-Altstadt-Lehel, Metzgerei Schäbitz operates as a metzgereien serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 264391. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, schaebitzamviktualienmarkt.de.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 324 reviews, which is a strong result for a metzgereien in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The leberkässemmel here is as good as you can hope for in bavaria. Juicy leberkäse sandwiched between a warm crispy bun. Will have to come back for the other meats here sometime

If Munich had a throne for meat, Schäbitz would sit on it with a crown made of Chillisousages. I’ve been eating here for 7 straight years, Schwinebraten, Hirsch‑Sausagecakes, Leberkäs, everything, and not once, NOT EVEN ONCE, did my body complain. No sickness, no weird reactions, no “Munich belly”. Just pure Bavarian power. This butcher isn’t just “good”. It’s the final boss of Viktualienmarkt-level taste, hidden right next to my workplace like a cheat code for life. The meat? Savage. Fresh. Honest. The kind of flavor that makes you rethink your childhood and wonder why your parents didn’t feed you Schäbitz from day one.The staff? Friendly like old-school Bavarian uncles who know exactly what you need before you open your mouth. The vibe? Feels like stepping into a temple where sausages hang like trophies and every bite upgrades your soul.Fun fact: I literally ate the SAME food here for YEARS, same Leberkäs, same sausages, same everything, and my body stayed clean, strong, and happy. That’s not “good quality”. That’s elite craftsmanship. For me, this is the butcher of Munich. Actually, the butcher of my world. If you want real food, real flavor, real Bavarian energy, Schäbitz is the

I was visiting Munich for a few days and went to several places to try the local food. Out of all of them, this place blew away my expectations, highly recommend!

We ordered the Hirschkas (deer and pork meatloaf) and a Käse krainer (cheese sausage) sandwich, and both were juicy and delicious for only €8.50. The service was quick, making it a great spot for a fast grab-and-go meal.

Delicious! We had the famous white weisswurst and a spicy sausage sandwich. Both with sweet mustard and everything was excellent. It's funny that you have to peel the white sausage before eating it. Do it while it's still wet and hot. It's a small store that is nicely laid out. Two small wall shelf tables where you can eat at, but you can get it to go as well. The staff are friendly and helpful.
