It was during the World Cup and I was glad that I could watch the fans in the room. The bed was ok but there was no bathtub. There was a shower but no toothbrush or toothpaste. It was quite near to the train station - Köln Hbf and it was not too difficult to get there to take the train. Out of the hotel there was some tram lines so you could make your way for connections. There was the pool, gym, and more but I did not have much time and want to rest instead so I did not use any of those facilities. We came after supper so I did not try to look for restaurants or anything to eat before I checked in or after I checked out. It was quite at the city centre area so you could find most of things you need on the way. Restaurants, supermarkets, malls, cosmetics, bookstores, hair salon, etc.

We had no idea about the spa until we were there. The receptionist was good at gauging that fact, and warned us about it. The only criticism was that in order to get to our room, we either had to walk around the entire hotel to the back, or go through the spa in only a bathrobe, which you'd figure there'd be a pathway in the hotel that's not connected to the spa. Then, in the middle of the night, I pulled out a sprite from the minifridge and opened it in the dark, not realizing it wasn't a sprite until I drank a little. It tasted like water but it had purple floaties. Needless to say I was horrified for my health. I woke up in the morning and was fine, though, so all is forgiven I suppose. But other than that, the service was great, my spa criticism is on me for not knowing, and although I have no idea what was in the sprite bottle, I made it out in good health.
