Amazing independent hotel. Wow, this place is amazing! rooms are modern, clean, spacious and practical with a fantastic breakfast selection of quality food. Martins offered me such a warm and friendly reception I will now always stay there. Volker & the team are awesome, thank you. Volker speaks excellent English too as my German is "work in progress".

We got here a little bit late in the day and without a reservation. No one was there but there was a note on the door with a phone number. When I called they were super friendly and luckily had a room left, he explained how to get in, told us about breakfast and gave a recommendation for a place to have dinner. We had a perfect stay here! It is close to a city centre, the place itself looks great, it is clean, service is amazing and the breakfast is delicious! And, if you like the forest and walking, there is lots of opportunities here to do so. I saved this place in my phone, just in case I am in the neighbourhood again or if someone needs a recommendation for a stay.

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for 10 days while we visited a dear friend. The innkeeper Volker and his wife Daniela couldn’t have been any more hospitable. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Their breakfast offerings were extraordinary and very fresh. And of course, their coffee and tea each morning and their visits with us were very enjoyable. If you ever need to be in this area, there is only one place to stay. I was visiting Germany on business this week and mistakenly booked this hotel in Mainberg, instead of one in Mainburg (where my meeting was)…. 🤪 I’m glad I made the mistake though! This is such a lovely family run hotel; the whole place is pretty new (2021 I think), but it’s built inside an old barn, so the restaurant area is really charming with exposed stone walls and wooden beams. My room was spotless and really well appointed, with a comfy bed, huge TV and a very modern shower. The WiFi was great too! 250Mbps. Breakfast was very good European style, with fresh eggs cooked to your liking, good coffee and juices too. There was parking in the courtyard, which was great for my rental car. It looks like this area is popular with cyclists. So maybe check that out if that’s your thing? I’m really pleased with my happy accident, and the 2.5 hour drive to the “other” Mainburg was worth it! Thanks to the owners for their hospitality! I hope to return one day.

Stayed only one night on the way back to Sweden but extremely pleased. Nice owner, good breakfast with delicious coffee, friendly owner who was quick to respond when emailed. Would gladly come back.
