About La Locanda

Located at Heimgartenstraße 14, 81539 München-Obergiesing-Fasangarten, La Locanda operates as an italienisch serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

Opening hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–2 pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 6911022. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is la-locanda-pr.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

With 4.2 out of 5 on Google from 236 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for italienisch & pizza in München. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We stayed at a hotel where this Italian restaurant is located underneath, and while the ambience, interior, and presentation were quite nice, unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. To begin with, it felt very tourist-oriented and there was no English menu available at all. When we asked for one, the response we received was simply, “I am your English menu,” which came across as unhelpful and inconvenient. For an Italian restaurant, we were also surprised to find no risotto on the menu. When we asked about it, we were told it could be made outside the menu, which felt quite unusual and unstructured. We ordered a fish dish and a margherita pizza. The fish portion was small (around 300–400g cooked) and priced extremely high at €47, which felt very poor value for money. The pizza was very plain, with minimal seasoning and no basil. The coffee was average. Overall, while the atmosphere is pleasant, the food quality, pricing, and service experience did not match expectations at all. It is a very expensive place for what you get, and I would not recommend it unless you are only looking for ambience.

Well we were so disapointed with this restaurant..very average 'Italian cuisine' only 2 people working and 13 Euros each for our 'homemade' 1 scoop of ice cream which had been left out too long before serving and was a bit more like soup .. a total rip off. We were a party of 10..main plates for some of us were being cleared away before others had finished and we were advised when we had finished our meal about 8.30 that we should move out of the restaurant if we wanted another drink..our worst restaurant in Municn..avoid!

We are ítalo-Brazilians, but living in Dublin and took a week off in Munich. We were so lucky to be close of this amazing restaurant. We have tried pinsa as starter, Napoli Pasta and other pasta filled with ricotta and pear. I can’t describe how tasty it was. Just brought us back to Italy at the moment. The atmosphere was good, we could talk and hear each other. Very clean and well decorated. The customer service is 10/10! We just have felt very welcomed, even when we don’t speak german. We are vegetarians and we were happy with the options we had. I’m sure for people who is not vegetarian will be very happy too. Thank you so much, I hope be back very soon.
