Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Highly disappointed in the healthcare here at Klinikum Sud. My father in law is from North America and was visiting for holidays, but unfortunately got very sick. The nurse was very racist and asked why he’s in Germany if he doesn’t speak German. He was told he’d get an MRI on day 2 of his visit, but it was delayed an additional two days, while another patient admitted a day later got it the same day when their symptoms were not as bad. Also, don’t get sick on Sundays or public holidays because the hospital is not fully operational.

Was sent here by my house doctor for some urgent heart situation. In general the staff, nurses and doctors here are professional and friendly and patient, especially the cardiology department. Longer waiting time is a common situation of German medical system, so I wouldn’t complain about it. But it would be nicer if the hospital can optimize the waiting time for the necessary checks. Anyway, thanks for the care from the staff here.

If you want to become a number and not a human, if you want to be a victim of the tensions between doctors and caretakers, if you love to be ignored, if you like to wait with no communication- then Klinikum Süd is the place to go. A nice infrastructure and amenities could not hide the fact: doctors are the best educated academic robots with zero empathy, while lovely caretakers are doing impossible tasks which will break any human some day - a ticking time bomb. I do not wish for you to ever have to make the experience of any hospital, nor have an emergency. But if you do: here are some advices: find somebody in your personal circle of friends who knows a doctor in the hospital to keep hope to make any personal relationship and be heard. Try to accumulate as much as information about your doctors from the websites of the hospitals etc like knowing their hobbies, their golf handicap etc: they love that you show interest in them, maybe (tiny maybe) they will show interest in you. If someone asks “does it hurt”, it’s a rhetorical question. They are not strict on the visiting times, because visitors usually take much better care anyhow - so they don’t mind.
