Museum ist zur Zeit geschlossen. Aber die Kirche kann man besichtigen und einen kurzen Blick in den Innenhof des Klosters werfen

Eine beeindruckende Anlage eines 1139 gegründeten ursprünglichen Praemonstratenserklosters, die von einer Anhöhe aus respektgebietend ins Tal schaut. Das Museum befindet sich im ehemaligen Kreuzgang und ist recht überschaubar, aber sehr schön gestaltet. Hier kann man zwei Beispiele von monastischem Leben der Kartäuser anschauen, die separiert mit eigener Parzelle und Anbau zum Eigenbedarf, ein konzeptionelles Gegenbeispiel bieten zum mönchischen Gemeinschaftsgedanken anderer Orden. Nach dem Reichsdeputationshauptschluss von 1803, bei dem die Politik wieder einmal in der Geschichte ein Unrecht durch ein anderes zu beheben gedachte, kam das Ende des Klosters. Zu begehen ist heute noch die prächtige Klosterkirche. Leider hat das Klostermuseum etwas exotische Öffnungszeiten, nur an den Wochenenden.

Man kann nur die Kirche und das Außengelände besichtigen. Das Museum war leider geschlossen. Wenn man sich z.B. in der Nähe von Ochsenfurt aufhält, ist das Kloster durchaus einen Abstecher wert.

Eine Führung und damit die Möglichkeit der geschichtlichen Einordnung sollte man unbedingt wahrnehmen.

Wirklich informatives Museum mit einer sehenswerten säkularisierten Dorfkirche. Man merkt der Geist Napoleons wirkt auch noch im 3 Jahrtausend nach.
