I've worked with Julian for nearly 3 years as an American self-employed app developer working in Germany. Julian was able to adeptly handle my complex situation as an expat sole proprietor based in Germany with multiple international income sources. As a German citizen who recently moved to the USA and still owns and lets out property in Germany, my tax situation became much more complex than what I was used to (I had historically done my own taxes). Julian was excellent in guiding me through the entire process and making sure everything was properly handled with my double tax submission. He explained everything clearly, kept the process smooth and stress-free, and communication was always quick and easy. To top it off, I even ended up with a nice refund. I can only recommend Julian – professional, reliable, and a pleasure to work with!

Update (June 2026): My original review was 5-stars and posted below. Unfortunately, after reaching out in March 2026 to do my 2025 taxes, I received no reply until following up weeks later. The reply appeared standard, with no context of our previous working relationship, and asked me to book a free, 15-min "get to know you" call. I responded confused and did not get a reply. I went on the website to book an appointment. The earliest was May. When the day came, the appointment was cancelled (by Julian due to illness) and never rescheduled. When I emailed Julian my questions that I had prepared, and my tax documents, I didn't receive a reply. When I responded with an urgent question and deadline, I didn't receive a reply. It wasn't until weeks later when I finally asked "is this even happening?" and voicing my frustration that I received an apologetic reply, stating due to high work volume and illness, things have been delayed. The cost estimates I was given in August 2025 were doubled and although it was confirmed in May 2026 that Julian would be able to do my US taxes as well, this was later noted as too complicated and I would need to find someone else. As expats in Germany the tax system can be daunting, Julian has been extraordinary with supporting us through the tax process for the 2023 fiscal year, including cross border related recommendations.
