This place has as much charm and atmosphere as a corporate dental office but with worse costumer service. Most of the receptionists didn’t seem to care, and one was straight up rude (middle-aged guy with a beard). The room came with no towels, soap, or shampoo, so they were happy to charge me for them. I’ve been to many youth hostels that provide these amenities for free. I know Augsburg isn’t the typical tourist destination but they could at least put in some effort on informing fun things to do. Upon asking for this, one of the receptionists shrugged and gestured to a few measly brochures, most of which were out of date. The waitress at a nearby restaurant was much more helpful and actually made me a list of things to do! Maybe they should hire her… The room was clean and breakfast was free but the staff working it skewered me with looks and hovered when I was out at the buffet, like they really didn’t want me there. All in all, this place is a total money grab, stay somewhere else if you want to enjoy your stay in Augsburg, which is a really lovely town!

Really disappointing experience overall. The staff were extremely rude and unfriendly, and the atmosphere felt old, neglected, and uncomfortable. The rooms were dirty and the whole place smelled so bad inside that we ended up drinking our coffee outside instead of staying in the breakfast area. Breakfast was also terrible — they served dry, burnt ham with the eggs, and everything felt very low quality. Some staff members acted careless and unprofessional, which made the stay even worse. You can even see some of these conditions in the photos I uploaded.

Lovely location for group setting, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are quite basic with no toiletries and you have to bring yours, including your towels. Towels can be rented for a price

I would say there are 2 major problems here: 1. Super noisy and no control over it 2. Very expensive in my opinion: in fact, even random General places have some discounts for students but here as YOUTH hostels not only doesn’t give students discounts and are expensive but also make you pay an extra fee for membership !! But the rest are perfect. Clean rooms, Good location, Breakfast included and so on.
