For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–4 pm. It is closed on Monday. Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. Getting around Berlin is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Berlin and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Berlin is world-famous for its unfriendliness, and this place certainly didn't disappoint! While the pastries were actually good, the coffee tasted completely burnt. Throwing the coffee lid at me was a lovely touch, it really confirmed that basic manners aren't on the menu here. Good bread or not, I definitely won't be coming back for another serving of attitude.

There are certain ways I judge a bakery, probably not how a professional critic would, but enough to tell when a place is truly exceptional. In a city of trendy spots selling €4 croissants and chains that just bake premade dough on site, it is rare to come across a bakery that actually masters its craft. This is one of them. I usually start with the bread, and here it is easily a 9 out of 10. Then there is the Käsebrötchen, something I take very seriously, and these are without exaggeration among the top three I have ever had. Finally, the sweet side: their croissants are impeccably layered, crisp, not overly sweet, and full of flavor. This is a bakery where the croissants would hold their own in Paris, the Käsebrötchen are near perfect, and the bread reflects genuine skill and dedication. Highly recommended.

3close-up for you, Johann! we got there at 9am this morning and had a Pain Au Chocolat in this quality…no need to speak more really long line but at least should have met a basic requirement for pastry

How was this sandwich THAT good? 😭 When I asked if they had sandwiches, they told me it was just a small bread roll with cream cheese and cheese, so honestly my expectations were pretty low. I picked the olive oil and olive bread one… and wow. It ended up being one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. So simple but insanely delicious.

The bakery is really famous and you see people in queue. It doesn’t have a big sitting area so preferred to take the parcel and eat out or at home. We ordered 1. Croissant - Absolutely delicious plain croissant with slight sweetness. I love butter croissants and was very happy to eat this one. The layers outside were crispy and good baked however the best thing was the fluffiness inside as usually some croissants are just thick flour inside. This was well baked. 2. Pain du chocolat - Delicious and well baked. The chocolate is not so strong in flavour and was a mix of almond. If you want strong on chocolate then it will be less than your expectations but it tasted very good. 3. Pain de pistachios- Absolutely amazing, the shape is different but it clearly has a distinct flavour and with recent trend of pistachios it gives a great experience 4. Hot chocolate- Ordered it as it was too cold outside, not recommended as it was a basic milk chocolate and not dissolved in milk so the flavours were seperate. I recommend this place for pure love of croissants and worth trying it for the high quality of products.
