München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I'm studying in the Fernstudium at the moment for 6 months now. Overall I've enjoyed the experience and feel as if I'm getting my moneys worth. The course scripts and detailed and exam relevant, the tutors respond quickly to questions, and the MyCampus LMS is quite easy to use/works very well compared to other Universities I've attended. When/if I've had a technical issue (once or twice needed help with exam registration), the exams office and technical support reply within 48 hours as promised, often earlier. The problem is promtly resolved without any further action from my side. I've been to the Munich campus a few times, I found it comfortable and new, though small. Their are also desktop computers and a commercial printer availiable for students, I found this as a huge plus, as in some schools you must pay extra for printer acsess.
