Choosing a Kita, school or course means looking at the curriculum, group sizes, staff qualifications and the fee schedule, including what is not covered. Kita places are scarce in most cities, so register early, often before the child is born, through the municipal portal or directly with the Kita, and ask about the Kita-Gutschein or fee subsidy where your city offers one. Primary schools (Grundschulen) enrol by catchment area, while the choice between Gymnasium, Realschule and Gesamtschule comes after year four.

As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 0821 343320. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is inlingua-augsburg.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 99 reviews, which is a strong result for a sprachschulen in Augsburg and suggests consistent service.

Augsburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Augsburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I have been learning A1 from Inlingua Augsburg and its has been a great experience learning. It was very effective and I would definitely be interested in attending in other classes. I would definitely recommend this to my co-workers as well as friends.

My teacher Bernd is an excellent professional teacher in all respects; he is encouraging but appropriately challenging. He has a natural gift for teaching and can explain what appear to the most complex things in memorable and easy to to digest gems. Bernd is extremely well prepared, reliable and knowledgeable. His gentle and encouraging teaching manner has enabled me to find learning German much less daunting, and his sense of fun and humour has made the learning process fun. He demonstrates a thorough understanding of my learning needs, and is able to adapt easily to whether I need encouragement with conversational German, or help with more formal grammar teaching. I have found him to be a teacher of the highest standards and could not have wished more from a teacher. Quite simply, I could not recommend him highly enough.

The lessons are held in our company, the communication between Inlingua and our company is good. Short notice cancellation is possible. Our very nice and competent teacher customized the lessons referring to topics (special vocabulary for our company), level of knowledge and combination of joining persons. The focus of the lessons is talking and using the language. Therfore the teacher uses current newspaper articles and we often discuss current political issues. The grammar units are always well prepared and often customized like the lessons (special phrases and vocabulary for our industry sector and business english). We also have the possibility to bring in our own topics and ask for help with written language for our customers (e-mails, letters, presentations, reports...). Recommendable school for learning languages.

My australian husband has recently taken a full time German class at inlingua. He had no German knowledge and was able to learn a lot of the basic grammar rules and heaps of words in only a few month. He was able to understand conversations and talk on a basic level in a short amount of time. I was very impressed! Would only recommend inlingua!

1. I do not want to pay 30 euros for 90 minutes to just talk. Part of the second half of the class (except for the last lesson), most of our classes were free talk.About our job, our mother country, etc. I do not want to say that the free talk itself is bad. I understand that conversation training is effective for language learning. HOWEVER, just doing free-talk will only make use of what I learned until then. We have been paying money to learn new things. We are still a beginner class. We need inputs first. First, we should learn new things. Besides, we will conversation as practice to use “New learning things”. Should not it be a form of class? 2. Construction sound This is a language school. Why do classes under construction sounds occur? You should avoid construction work in class hours. Should it be impossible, should you postpone the lesson to a day without construction? 3. Questionnaire If I can read a questionnaire written in German distributed from you, I do not need to already come to German A1 class.
