Schwabach is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Schwabach is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I ordered a lot of stuff to build a garden shed online and picked it up myself. The store was still closed due to Covid restrictions. Everything was great, besides for the store taking 2 hours longer to put my order together than they has communicated. It's a huge store, and Hornbach is generally very good.

We have been coming to buy project supplies at Hornbach for years. I learned something new! You can order wood to be cut. You place the order at the cutting counter found in the back corner of the lumber section and then pay at the front registers. Hornbach will send you an email when your order is ready for pickup!
