Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 6 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 0911 4008797. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Nürnberg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I have been a regular customer here since few months, a great place for bread and croissants, the special here is chocolate without massive filling tastes extraordinary, they have a wide range of breads and some snacks too, the cappuccino tastes really good and one of the lowest priced cappuccino in town. The price is cheap, very friendly service and a best place, overall a thoroughgoing place

Wonderful high-quality bakery with super friendly staff! Inside and outdoor seating options. Very reasonable prices and huge selection of items. The chocolate croissants are to die for—large, covered in chocolate, delectably crunchy yet soft and chewy. I know for a fact they pay attention to details and use above-and-beyond ingredients because the chocolate croissants use hazelnut! Even though I am severely allergic (and my fault for not double checking (: ) the first few bites were absolutely worth it. Definitely visit if you’re in Nuremberg!
