Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I booked a small transporter and called them multiple times to confirm. The time I selected to pick up was 11-12 o clock but I reached a little late like 12:10. For being late I called the office and told them I am on the way and will be there around 12:10. The person waited for us but when we reached his behavior was not friendly and he told that he do not have that small transporter which would cost 44 euro. Instead he said we only have a big transporter and you can take it on rent with 50 euro more so in total 95 euro. It was a real bullshit that I reserved something else and they were offering me expensive one. I told them about online reservation but they said it’s only online, we have the big one only if you want to take it. Very disappointed. Not recommended.

I booked a car for my father in advance for him to do the romantic road. Hertz sent an email only the day before to cancel the booking. This is fully unprofessional and created a lot of stress to find an alternative. In addition to that, when I called the person didn’t speak English and hung up on me. Worst experience I ever had with Hertz - recommend to avoid this branch.

Be aware: they don't respect the opening time they claim and they don't speak English. We called when we arrived (with the help of a Dutch speaker) and they told us someone would arrive in 15 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes, we called again and they told us someone would arrive in 30 minutes. Not very respectful.

Excellent service! Very good prices (Transporter, unlimited mileage, one way), too! Checking-in online beforehand speeds up the process. Important detail: your credit card gets blocked with the amount of the fuel in the tank in advance (approx 150€, you receive it back/unblocked when you return the car with the tank full) in addition to the usual amount blocked as security (make sure you credit card can cope with the additional amount).
