Munich Hauptbahnhof is exactly what you’d expect from a major train station—big, busy, and built to handle a large amount of traffic. It has a baggage drop and locker system, which is very useful if you need to store your luggage. The only downside was that the change machine wasn’t working, so we had to get coins from one of the food kiosks instead. Overall, it’s functional, well-connected, and does the job. Nothing too special, but good enough for what you need when traveling through Munich.

For a city like Munich, the pictures are taken at 0120 am so there is almost no one. What I can say is that the station is quite poor for the city of Munich and if compared to other stations like Hamburg or Berlin this truly ranks at the bottom in terms of modernness, service, ease of navigation; announcements…

Easy to use station and no major issues. Lots of construction still going on and quite noisy. Stalls for coffee and snacks. Could probably benefit from a good cleaning.

We took the train from Munich to Wurzburg, first class. It was a large, comfortable train with a dining car. The curry wurst was great!

Main train station of Munich. Pretty big. Has access to the metro (U bahn), suburban trains (S bahn) and other city transport. Has food and beverage options. Pretty crowded. City centre within around 20 minutes walking. Main bus terminal within 10 minutes walking.
