München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

We have been locking around quite a bit to find an exquisite printing facility for the job of printing a state-of-the art Foto book. The author and me were from the first moment more then impressed by the impeccable service and quality that everybody at Grafik + Druck digital provided. They not only executed the printing job but in fact co-developed the realisation: search for the best possible paper, the material of the cover, let alone the difficult search of an optimal way to print the art b&w fotos that I scanned and restored from 35mm-Leica-M negatives. The author, a well-known film cameraman, thanked me and them a thousand times for this ultra-personal experience that is the total opposite of any anonym printing service. The words "highly recommendable" is awfully weak, in fact if you have a printing job there is no other alternative any more. Thanks for this experience, we will be back! Cordialement, Volker Schaner
