München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I mean “wow”. Part pf the church under restoration construction so. During the day you will be hearing some banging inside the church. Nonetheless it is jawdropping. Just the sheer size, height, and length of this structure is something to get astounded by. For clarification this church is a Catholic church, it is the seat of the Archbishop of the Archdiocese in Munich. There is another Frauenkirsche(Protestant) church but that is located in Dresden.

I am amazed at the restoration required after the horrors of war so severely damaged this beautiful house of worship. We stopped twice so that the second day’s visit allowed for meditation and to appreciate the messages and meaning of the artistry within. The tower views provide (at extra cost) an appreciation of the city skyline which is difficult to see otherwise. Be advised that while the climb is not terribly long, it is quite a close spiral stair to negotiate. Bad knees or heart should avoid it but that one avoidance does not diminish the visit in any way.

Frauenkirche is beautiful and really impressive. The twin towers stand out immediately, and the inside feels calm and full of history. It’s one of those places that makes you stop and look around. A clear 5‑star spot.

A very interesting Cathedral. Most of the cathedrals and church's we've visited are Catholic or Orthodox, so a Protestant Church was intriguing. It's not as ostentatious inside as those of other denominations, but it still takes your breath away. Some of the art is stunning and the Church really feels very German. There is some history here that's worth looking at. The place is free, but a donation is suggested. Very much worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Always great visiting the large cathedrals around Europe. This one was another delight to visit in Old Town Munich. No fee to go inside but a fee to go up in the towers. Beautiful architecture that was not overly done.

Frauenkirche is one of the most iconic landmarks in Munich and a place full of history and beauty. Built in the 15th century, this cathedral has become a symbol of the city with its famous twin domes visible across Munich. The church from inside is peaceful, grand, and beautifully designed with stunning Gothic architecture, tall arches, elegant stained glass windows, and a very calm spiritual atmosphere. Walking inside makes you appreciate the rich history and craftsmanship of this incredible place. One of the most interesting parts is the famous “Devil’s Footprint” legend inside the cathedral, which adds a unique historical charm to the visit. Whether you are interested in history, architecture, or simply want a peaceful place to explore, this cathedral is definitely worth visiting.

Frauenkirche is one of the most iconic and impressive landmarks in Munich. From the outside, its twin towers define the city skyline, and once you step inside, you’re greeted by a sense of calm and grandeur that is truly special. The interior is beautifully simple yet powerful, with high ceilings and elegant architectural details that create a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. It feels less crowded and more serene compared to other major landmarks, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights is learning about the history of the church and its significance to the city. Every corner has a story, and you can really feel the heritage and importance of the place. It’s a must-visit for anyone in Munich—whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or just looking for a quiet and beautiful space to take in the moment.

Very nice Gothic style church with very high ceiling. The church gets crowded due to its location. The design is very simple from the inside but very beautiful from the outside making it unique due to its 2 towers. If you get the opportunity to go to the top, I would recommend it. This is the unique opportunity to see town hall in the Marienplatz from a different perspective. You get to see a good portion of the city too. The view made it worth the trip.
