Salons, spas and fitness studios in Germany are best booked ahead, especially for evenings and Saturdays, and most now take bookings online or through WhatsApp as well as by phone. Agree the service and the price before you start, note that many salons close on Mondays, and tip 5-10% in cash if you are happy. Gyms usually ask for a 12- or 24-month contract, with the monthly rate falling the longer you sign up for, so read the cancellation clause.

Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 6:30 am–11:30 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Fitnessstudio München Arabellapark on 089 911891; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is arabella-fitness.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 408 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded fitnessstudios in München.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

I have been going to the Arabellapark Fitness Studio for a couple months now and I really enjoy the gym a lot. There's a ton of equipment, a lot of different purpose fit areas, and it's clean and never too crowded. The gym has really excellent open hours as well. And having a sauna to use after the gym is killer! Only downside for me personally is that I wish there was a slightly larger area with free weights dumbbells, because those seem to fill up quickly.

If you're a student, this may not be the best gym for you. The student tariff changes to the regular rate every few months without prior notice. Because of that, I paid much more than I should, so be very careful with that. It is a good way to charge you more. The manager is not particularly friendly or cooperative, so don't rely on verbal agreements—make sure everything is clearly stated in your contract. Overall, the gym is more expensive than others, offers fewer facilities, and, as far as I think, has no other branches. It's located in a basement, and the air conditioning is inadequate especially during peak hours.

What else can I say about my "gym away from home," except to emphasize that this is the best gym for the money in the Munich metropolitan area, bar none: As long as YOU have the discipline to attend every gym session (from a schedule you design for yourself; for people entirely new to progressive resistance weight training, I recommend one of the many "apps" designed for weightlifters, since these can help you to "put it all together," something that I could have benefitted from when I first started lifting 40 years ago (I turn 57 on August 10...), but that was before "a computer in every pot," and most far away from the advent of the internet! All-in-all, a fabulous gym with equipment to please even the most picky of customers, since almost everything needed for a full-scale, "serious gym for serious training" is at your disposal-free weights easily occupy about half of the gym's floor space, with about 12 separate benches (some adjustable, some just a flat bench) on which the large asst. of barbells and dumbbells can be used in myriad ways. There's even a separate room with a squatting safety rack and a Smith bench press safety rack, and a room with a full sized punching bag...bu

Family owned Gym. Owners are taking really good care of the facility. Very clean space. Everything from Hammer and Life Fitness, only the best, from Cardio, to machines and weights. You can´t really ask for more for the price you pay. I would say that regarding what you get, it is really under paid.
