München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Nice place. A bit more expensive than places like fitx but a bit better than them.

I honestly struggle to understand how the ratings are so high. The gym is really overpriced for what it offers. The equipment is old, unclean and there is little variety in the machines and not a huge number of them. This means that the essential machines are usually taken and you have to go through a lot of hoops to complete your workout. The ventilation is lacking as well. It is clear that the gym is more focused on cardio rather than strength training. Also, to get a list of all available membership models, you need to go in person. Online, you can only get their latest "promo offer" which is not really the best. The staff, from the few interactions I have had with it, seems friendly and welcoming and they speak both good English and German. They also handled my membership cancellation without hassle. However, this place really needs to adjust its pricing. It is miles behind FitX and FitStar, which have multiple locations, superior equipment, more machines and better ventilation at half the price. The only thing going for Fitnesspoint is that it offers monthly memberships without a minimum contract duration and the fact that it is the only gym in the area.

When I joined I thought I was paying too much for the equipment they have, it is simple and the weights are the old metal style. But when you realize that it does not matter at what time you go, the gym is not going to be full, moreover, you will be able to finish your training with no delays because there is just a few people, then you see that it is worth it. It is the best gym I have ever been to, they have enough machines and weights and people do not bother.

I started gymming after a recess of two years. I am very pleased with the support I get from the trainers at fitness point. They are competent and supportive. The showers and the changing rooms are very clean. You also get free water and drinks which honestly is a luxury in Munich :-). Highly recommend fitness point.

I think that it is a perfect gym specially if you are in Munich as an expat. The Staff is friendly, there are a lot of different machines for you to use, they even have a sauna where you can relax and most of the staff speak perfect English. All this with also a really good price thou. 🙂
