Visitors from outside the EU can reclaim VAT on larger purchases with an export form stamped at the airport before departure.

More information is available on its website, edeka.de.

With 3.8 out of 5 on Google from 433 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for supermärkte & discounter in Berlin. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. Getting around Berlin is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Berlin and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Holy cow! I just went there and found one of those scanner/barcode reader thingies in the fridge area and WENT OUT OF MY WAY to return it to an employee (since it obviously didn't belong there and I didn't know if it can even "handle" the cold.) I proceed to return it, saying "Ich habe das gefunden".....and promptly get bombarded with accusations like "Wieso hast du das?", "Was machts du mit unsere Geräte?" Like I'd vindictively stolen it and planned evil doings. Eh...what? If that HAD been the case, would I have actively sought out an employee? Clearly! Logical thinking is not a prerequisite for working there. So my advice? Next time you're faced with such an issue, DON'T opt to be a decent human being and upstanding citizen. JUST DON'T.

If you happen to be a non-German speaker, expect a hostile attitude, especially when trying to ask general employees questions. English, in 2026, seems to be irrelevant in this supermarket, even if you're just a tourist that has no reason to have any knowledge in German.

I wasn’t allowed to use the self checkout despite it being open and not it use. My personal experience was unfair treatment that made my trip take unnecessary extra time. Won’t be back

Absolutely awful security guard. She saw that we were speaking English and literally harassed us. I always went there to grab a quick bite with my colleagues, never again. Go to Rewe, Aldi or some where else if you don’t want to support Xenophobia.

Options limited and cashiers extremely slow and unpleasant. Good thing they implemented the self checkout counters. However, they dont always open them.

Just visited the EDEKA here and honestly, I was quite surprised how good the supermarket looks, really clean and organised. Compared to some other supermarkets around the same area, it is outstanding. It is also much bigger than I expected, many different products and many choices for grocery shopping. EDEKA is more focus on the quality of their products, the prices are usually higher than others. If you are looking for something cheaper, this should not be the first choice. Besides, the old style meat section the EDEKA often offers. Here got a section for fresh made Sushi. That's great news for Sushi lovers. Super nice!

I came to Germany two years ago and I was impressed how the staff were professional and friendly, but since maybe 6 months it’s completely the opposite they even most of the time not saying hi or bye ! Some are even throwing the products after scanning, and when i made the biggest mistake and wanted to return something the woman tried to send me away, I guess still one or two decent staff, I can’t compare them with Rewe or Aldi Staff

The food selection is very good. The staff are a bit rude and they seem always annoyed when I want to ask a question. The staff at the Till (the female Cashier's tend to be rude). Judt ignore them and you are good to go.
