About DJH Jugendherberge Würzburg

Located at Fred-Joseph-Platz, 97082 Würzburg, DJH Jugendherberge Würzburg operates as a hostel serving Würzburg in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as wohnheim, gemeinnützige organisation, gruppenunterkunft, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. The listed phone number is 0931 4677860. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, wuerzburg.jugendherberge.de.

With 4.1 out of 5 on Google from 627 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for hostels in Würzburg. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Würzburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

A really great place to stay, so well organised, friendly and wonderful breakfast. The rooms at the back are quieter, and you can walk out the back to go up the hill to the castle.

It was okay for the price. Really early in the morning there was a kid stomping through the halls and talking really loudly, but this wasn't the hostel's fault of course. A lot of young families and young people who can be loud at times(again to be expected since this is a youth hostel). Breakfast was crowded and felt a bit messy, but the food itself wasn't bad, they were really nice buns fresh from the oven. Overall I prefer something more quiet and orderly, but to each their own.

The rooms are okay, of you know what you have to expect (6 beds in one room), there are lockers for everybody but sadly the showers are outside the rooms and for about 5 rooms there are only 3 showers. The food is nice as long as you are not vegan. And the wifi is pretty good for a youth hostel
