About DJH Jugendherberge Ingolstadt

Located at Friedhofstraße 4 1/2, 85049 Ingolstadt-Altstadt Nordwest, DJH Jugendherberge Ingolstadt operates as a hostel serving Ingolstadt in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Travel businesses in Ingolstadt serve both domestic and international visitors. Compare the rate here with the property's own website before you commit, check the cancellation terms and keep a copy of your booking. Deutsche Bahn fares are cheapest weeks ahead as Sparpreis tickets, the Deutschlandticket covers local and regional transport for a flat monthly fee, and peak periods such as Easter, Whitsun, the July-August holidays and Advent fill popular destinations months ahead.

No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. The listed phone number is 0841 3051280. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, ingolstadt.jugendherberge.de.

With 3.8 out of 5 on Google from 195 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for hostels in Ingolstadt. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

Ingolstadt is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Ingolstadt is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I had to come on here and try to reach as many people as possible with this review. I normally don’t leave reviews for places, but this youth hostel, I have to. So I moved to Germany for my studies and unfortunately couldn’t find a permanent (or semi permanent) student accommodation before getting here. So I had to stay at this hostel whilst I searched for my own place. Firstly, the hostel has AMAZING staff. Immediately I stepped in, I felt so safe and secure. Alex and Kathrin always made me feel like everything was going to be fine in due time. Everyone there always walked with a smile on their faces. They always made sure I was okay and that meant a lot to me. Secondly, the hostel is really really clean. The bathroom and toilets are separate but they are all well maintained. There is a janitor who cleans the shared areas of the hostel and takes out the trash from our rooms every morning. (He too was really welcoming and warm). Thirdly, they are very flexible when it comes to checking in and out. They are also very reachable. I remember reaching out to them through email whilst I was still back at home and I got a reply from Christin almost immediately. Her responses were very

Pretty good place! Best option for exchange students. It has everything and the price is very accessible. Angela and team are very receptive. I stayed twice and recommend.

Was greeted by a very unfriendly man who made checking in so slow, but otherwise just your typical Jugendherberge. Within walking distance to city center.

Good place for students to stay. Beds and rooms are tidy. Prior reservation is needed. Provides breakfast for students and has football/basketball court next to it. Has good seats to sit outside and enjoy fresh air.

The staff at the front desk was very friendly. I had to stay for couple of days before i moved to my room in Ingolstadt. The hostel is very well kept and clean. The toilet and shower are separated like old style. Both are well maintained. The complimentary breakfast is decent and it is mostly continental..musli, milk, coffee, toast etc. I will highly recommend this hostel for your stay.
