Die Berliner Volkshochschulen

From the very first interaction, the behavior of the staff in this school was shocking and unacceptable. At one point, a woman at the entrance very roughly grabbed my arm and physically pushed me out of the office when I came in to ask another staff member a simple question about documents. It was done in a harsh and aggressive manner, in front of others. I was so distressed by this treatment that I left in tears. This was not an isolated incident. During the course registration earlier, a male staff member spoke to me in a deeply disrespectful way, pointing his finger at me while talking and making humiliating comments about my language skills, saying that my English was as bad as my German. The overall atmosphere in this place is hostile, unprofessional, and degrading. Instead of support or basic respect, students are treated with arrogance and aggression. I strongly do not recommend this school to anyone who expects respectful, humane, and professional treatment.

THE LADY AT THE INFO DESK is super rude she speaks only German in a language school? Also speaks so fast and judges you that you're not fluent! How come you are here for Einbürgerungstest when you don't speak German?! She was mad and yelled at me when I didn't understand her as she shortens 3 words in one word. Rolled her eyes. Everytime I asked her to repeat slowly she repeats what she said faster and louder. Well it is not required for me to get Niederlassungserlaubnis to be fluent in German and you shouldn't treat us this way! Be more respectful and polite, if you can't speak English at least speak slow German and don't judge people who are here to work and learn! This kind of attitude is unacceptable. Keeps me wondering is RACISM something we have to experience even when we try to integrate.

I was really worried after reading the reviews. But my experience was super. The woman at the entrance of the school, the woman at the registration office and the woman at the cash counter- all fabulous. They spoke german but it was very slow and understandable. The woman at the registration office was explaining every thing slowly and clearly. One of them also spoke some terms in English so I could understand. They were extremely kind. I had a very pleasant experience,so thankful.

So this is my review: the old lady that give information to FOREIGNERS to learn German, JUST SPEAK GERMAN , I think is already funny and absurd like this …. She is SUPER RUDE and unhelpful! We are in 2025 and still was impossible to register online but u were obliged to go in the school and also pray there was not too many person otherwise they will not accept u and tell u to come back in 2 days …? I did the course until b1, but my level is so low that that’s why I m writing this in English instead of German . The school level is SUPER LOW , I ended up in a class that was filled up just with people there were obliged to do the course ( for free) and they just didn t care at all, the teacher level was also low, I finished the school and we had to give the b1 test , we were not prepared enough and I had to take 3 months private class to pass it …. On About like 20 people ( the class )I think just 5 people passed ….. i think this is the best feedback when basically an intere class doesn t pass the test I will think twice! I cannot suggest this school is cheap but really is a waste of time . After b1 I can order a kebab in autonomy that s all .
