Located at Agnesstraße 27, 80798 München-Schwabing-West, Deutschkurse bei der Universität München e.V. operates as a sprachschulen serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Choosing a Kita, school or course means looking at the curriculum, group sizes, staff qualifications and the fee schedule, including what is not covered. Kita places are scarce in most cities, so register early, often before the child is born, through the municipal portal or directly with the Kita, and ask about the Kita-Gutschein or fee subsidy where your city offers one. Primary schools (Grundschulen) enrol by catchment area, while the choice between Gymnasium, Realschule and Gesamtschule comes after year four.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 24410490. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is dkfa.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
With 4.2 out of 5 on Google from 156 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for sprachschulen & deutschkurse in München. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I had a very positive experience at Deutschkurse bei der Universität München (DKFA). The administrative staff were always helpful and well organized. A special thank you to my teacher, Karoline. Her teaching style is clear, patient, and easy to understand. She always explained grammar and vocabulary in a way that made learning German enjoyable and less stressful. Thanks to her support and encouragement, I successfully passed my A1 class exam with a grade of 1.3, and 6 ECTS. I highly recommend DKFA to anyone who wants to learn German in a supportive and professional environment. Thank you to Karoline and the entire DKFA team!

I enrolled in DKFA’s Evening Super Intensive A2 course, only to find 30 students in the class with barely any chance to speak. Students had to raise their hands and queue for a turn. For a language course, this is simply not acceptable. When I complained, DKFA told me large classes are a “long-standing tradition since 1952” and that they intentionally do not guarantee any maximum class size — something they never disclose on their website or at the point of enrolment. Their solution? Transfer to a daytime class. I enrolled in the evening course precisely because I work during the day! Worth noting: the Evening Super Intensive costs €5.78 per lesson, actually more expensive per lesson than their own Day Courses Intensive at €5.37. More money, bigger class. For future students: ask about class size before you sign up, because DKFA will not tell you. BWS Germanlingua, did deutsch-institut, and the Goethe-Institut all publish their class size limits openly. DKFA does NOT.

I enrolled in the German course at DKFA for the second time, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The administrative staff are unfriendly : It felt as though students were treated as an inconvenience rather than valued participants in the program. The teaching staff also left much to be desired. While they seemed intent on ticking boxes and meeting their targets, they showed little commitment. Many students struggle to follow the pace, but questions raised in class often remain unanswered or are dismissed altogether. The lack of engagement and genuine dedication from the teachers are incredibly disappointing. For the price of the course, I had high expectations for both the quality of instruction and the level of support offered to students. Sadly, the reality fell far short. The service provided did not justify the cost, and I would not recommend this program to anyone seeking a meaningful and supportive language-learning experience (and I will of course myself look for another provider!).

The classrooms are packed with around 30 people and there is no air conditioning, so you can imagine the smell. The projectors don’t work well.

I visited two intensive courses and I'm planning to take a third one in the future. In my opinion, they have a very well-structured and high quality teaching methodology. Students get a sound grammar foundation and they practice daily exercises to refresh the learnt concepts. The teachers were very nice and even though the classes were almost 4h long they did not feel tiring. Summing-up, it is not cheap but it's really worth in comparison with other courses I tried.
