München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

There's tons of problems with the German railways. Trains are delayed or get cancelled last minute, you need reservations for the trains but then also maybe you don't... but then you might be standing for three hours. We had reservations for our trains that got cancelled and were sent to this place to book new places on other trains. Waited for half an hour. Got new places and trains. The next day, those trains got cancelled again. Were sent to this place again. Waited another half an hour. Then the lady told us she couldn't get us any reservations and she also could not see if there would be any free spots when we boarded. "Tough luck, figure it out." Why do you not just allow travelers to fix new reservations themselves? Why are tickets not simply paid back when a train is cancelled? This is the worst customer service I've encountered on all railway services across Europe I've traveled with. Take a look at the French system and learn. At least apologize when things go wrong. Good luck all who venture here!

Rude. I recommend to all the staff before working there get a therapist or drink some tea to calm down because nobody forced you to work there with the public if you can’t even do your JOB and control your unprofessional attitude. As I waitress I can understand the stress and the pressure but well take the responsibility of the job you have chosen…

I had a wonderful experience with DB Information! The staff are wonderfully incompetent and uninformed. I had to pay an extra price unnecessarily because of a 90-minute delay to my ICE train. It's actually a great business model. They charge the customer for their own incompetence :-)

Had a fantastic experience at the DB Reisezentrum in Munich Hauptbahnhof on 20 March 2026. I needed to resolve a complicated refund issue regarding a journey from Berlin to Gdansk. My original train had been cancelled, and in the confusion of being a tourist, I had already purchased a replacement ticket, not realizing I could have reused the original one. Despite it being a very busy morning at the station, the service was impressively fast. The queue management system estimated a wait of 5 to 15 minutes, and I was called to Counter 17 right on schedule. I was served by two gentlemen who were incredibly professional and empathetic. My situation was tricky: since I am visiting from abroad, a standard German bank transfer wasn't an option for me. I needed the refund processed back to my original mode of payment. I came prepared with the printed original ticket and invoice, the email notification of the cancellation & the completed refund form (which I had pre-printed). Even though I was told I could have processed this via the app after my scheduled travel date (March 28), I wanted the peace of mind of handling it in person while I was in Munich. The staff understood my "tourist plig
