München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A genuine step back in time with the classic Vibe you would expect more and during the hey day of the Kings of Bavaria... Long white aprons, champagne corks popping and steaming coffee from all over the world. A great spot with delicious (crazy extensive) cakes and sweets to complement your cup of tea... Or glass of wine.

The probably most iconic delicatessen store in Munich. Specialties from all over the world and absolutely beautiful inside. You need deep pockets. But it can't get any better than that.

Highly recommended! The store inside and cafe upstairs is so cool, very historic and elegant place. They have nice Apfelstrudel and great coffee. Based on season, you may find new dishes, like white asparagus soup.

Afternoon tea service was very nice. Great food, great tea, great service. Getting to the tea room required elbowing through a dense crowd waiting for the restaurant, receiving many dirty looks along the way, and it was only a little less crowded inside the tea room. Aside from the busyness, it was a nice experience.

This shop is very elegantly design, can feel old classic charm from the decoration and wooden fittings and the stuff they sell are expensive but good quality. The food all look so enticing. We bought some bread for our bus trip to Salzburg that evening.
