For a night out or a family day in Augsburg, venues like this one are best checked for opening times and events on the day itself, since programmes change. The season matters: beer gardens open from April into October, Christmas markets run through Advent, and open-air cinemas and festivals fill the summer. U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run through the night at weekends in the big cities, with night buses elsewhere, so plan the trip home.

No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. You can reach CinemaxX Augsburg on 040 80806969; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is cinemaxx.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

With 4.1 out of 5 on Google from 3,402 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for kinos, theater & konzerthäuser in Augsburg. German customers tend to review sparingly and critically, so a mid-range score with detailed comments is often a fair picture.

Augsburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Augsburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Self- fill drink station is neat- too bad the carbonation was all out. Paid 15€ for flat soda. And refills are only allowed when you pay full price again. The sound in Theater 8 was really low- even eating popcorn drowned out the sound from the movie. I could hear my neighbor literally breathing. Popcorn was good quality, the specialty items for kids was really cool, but also cost an arm and a leg. For a children's popcorn and drink 15€. And again no refills and the drinks had no carbonation. The best part about this place is offering movies in English, and the specialty items for certain movies for the kids.

That is my favourite cinema in Augsburg. You can enjoy a cocktail and a burger in a cafe next to it if you are very hungry. Inside you can find a tasty popcorn and beverages. Comfortable big view rooms, possibility to book a couch for 2 for more romantic observing:)

Decent. Friendly staff and clean cinema halls. One star is taken away due to the seats. They are not uncomfortable by any means, but could be nicer. Especially more space to the next person. Corona restrictions were really nice regarding that. Love seats aren't worth it, just isn't comfortable to sit close together due to the small gap that remains between the two seats. But still prefer to go here over all the other cinemas in the area. :)
