About Campingplatz Kalte Quelle
Located at Winterhäuser Str. 160, 97084 Würzburg, Campingplatz Kalte Quelle operates as a campingplätze serving Würzburg in Bayern. When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.
No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. The listed phone number is 0931 65598. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is kalte-quelle.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 1,344 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect before you commit to a visit.
Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Würzburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

€39 for a ~4x8m pitch without electricity, per night. This is more like a storage facility then a camping site. Even had to pay extra for the shower. (There are no free cold showers) Not even recommanded for single nights if you ask me. There is a tent to the right of the caravans, even closer to the caravan then the caravans are to each other. The car's back exceeds the spot's width

Friendly, good for tent / arrival with bicycle / small Biergarten / newer shower & toilet facilities — with bonus being next to a self-pick strawberry farm (late May 2026).

This site is well located about 7km outside Wurzburg on the river. It provided everything we needed and was well used; if there was one downside it was overused as the pitches are quite narrow and packed in well. That said we didn't feel cramped. There is a new toilet block which is lovely integrated toilet and shower. Slight downside is they are paying per minute, so you'll need your €0.50 or €1 coins. This is quite odd as most sites across Europe seem to have removed the need. There is an on-site bar and restaurant which was not only good value but relatively large portions. All payments on site are in cash including the restaurant. Would we come back? Yes.
