A very old castle, over 1000 years old, and it has never been destroyed, this is what makes it unique. It is located on a rock above a cliff and is a very scenic place. The castle itself is very well preserved and looks nice, although it is quite small. There is a convenient road and parking. On the website you can check the exact tour schedule. The guide explains everything and answers all questions. The ticket costs only 6 euros. It is said that the first book of The Song of the Nibelungs was found here. Nearby there are many interesting places that can easily be combined into one trip.

medieval castle from 13th century. it was a possession of multiple royal families through ages. the original manuscript from Ring of the Nibelung was written here (Prunn Codex). the guided tour let you see the interior with several rooms serving different subjects (hunt, poetry, kitchen...) , a jesuitic chapel and life of medieval people. very interesting.

Castle in great state high above the Altmühl valley. Therefore nice scenic pictures possible. Rich history of the building is well explained (signs, currently no tours due to CoViD) in German and English. Court can/might be visited without paying the entrance fee. Building and exhibition are worth to pay though. If you're into castles and history I highly recommend visiting this one.
