Leider keine Möglichkeit zum Aufstieg gefunden. Von der Straße aus ist es ein alter Turm.

Wunderschönes Ambiente, jedoch gesperrt und nicht für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Zusätzlich mit einem Elejtrozaun abgeriegelt.

Immer wieder einen kurzen Besuch wert! ABER ACHTUNG! Das Gelände ist seit einigen Jahren leider gesperrt so dass man leider nur einen weiten Blick aus der Ferne auf die Burg und die angrenzenden Ritterhöhlen bekommt in denen ich als Kind noch die unglaublichsten Abenteuertage verlebt hatte ... Ein kleiner Wehmutstropfen.... Trotzdem lohnt es sich die Natur darum herum zu erkunden und zu erklimmen und die angrenzendende Brauerei Eichhofener bietet anschließend Groß und Klein eine leckere Stärkung.

È uno dei soli 3 castelli "in grotta" della Baviera ( gli altri sono Stein an der Traun ed il Grafenloch). Risale probabilmente al XII secolo, ed era fatto da 2 grotte fortificate ed un giro di mura ed una alta torre esterna. Era occupato da vassalli dei Signori del Tirolo. Conquistato poi dai Bavaresi e riconquistato dai Tirolesi, è stato abbandonato dopo solo un paio di secoli. È stato poi usato come base durante le guerre di religione. Oggi si può raggiungere in 15/20 minuti, con un sentiero che esce dal villaggio in ripida pendenza, ma l'ingresso è proibito, sbarrato con un recinto elettrificato. Chiedendo agli abitanti del luogo, pare sia chiuso ed in restauro da diversi anni. Per fotografarlo al meglio, occorre salire sulla scogliera che si trova sopra il castello.
