Historischer Ort oberhalb Lichtenberg! Nach einem nur kleinen Aufstieg von Lichtenberg erreicht man die Burgruine. Von dort erschließt sich ein schöner Blick ins Tal. Von der Burg sind überwiegend nur Reste erhalten bis auf einen Aussichtsturm, der für 1€ über ein Drehkreuz bestiegen werden kann. Der Rest der Anlage ist frei zugänglich. Interessant sind die zahlreichen Informationstafeln, die kleine Geschichten aus der Historie des Ortes anhand unterschiedlicher Personen und Zeiträume beschreibt.

Die Burg ist in Fragmenten wie Mauerresten und Grundmauern erhalten. Der Bergfried wurde in den 1930er Jahren aus dem damaligen Reststumpf wieder errichtet.Ein Drehkreuz mit 1€( passend) Geldeinwurf, lässt einen Besucher in den Bergfried gelangen. Darin eine kleine Ausstellung zur Stadtgeschichte. Der Ausblick ist nicht gigantisch, denn dazu ist der Bergfried nicht hoch genug, trotzdem gut. Die Anlage wirkt sauber und gepflegt.

Der Weg durch Lichtenberg nach oben zur Burgruine lohnt sich. Ist man oben angekommen, wird man mit einem Ausblick auf die Umgebung belohnt. Wer dann noch das 1-Euro-Stück bereithält (ich hatte keins dabei) kann über eine Drehtür den Turm besteigen und wird mit noch mehr Aussicht belohnt.
