München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Very disappointing experience with KVR Munich. I have been waiting for my work permission for the last 4 months and have not received even a single proper response or update. I have a company ready to employ me and have already provided the required documents, but without work permission I cannot work. Meanwhile, I still have to pay my rent, health insurance, and other expenses from my own pocket. I understand that KVR has many applications, but 4 months without any response is extremely frustrating. People need to work and support themselves. I sincerely hope KVR improves its communication and processing times.

There are A-B-C blocks here, you should go to the building based on the appointment. I would recommend you to go at least 15 mins early. There are photo kiosks inside, very easy to use, the instructions are in different languages. A photo costs 6 euro. There might be a queue for photo machines, in that case you should go earlier.

I just want to add tips for people who are struggling for making notfal termins. The system has become smarter, and detects too may requests from same IP address, and blocks you, or slows you down. 1.Have WiFi as well as 5G hotspot prepared so you can switch the network. 2. Start at 6:30, 7:30 and again every hour at least until 12:30. 3. Do not make too many too fast requests with multple browser windows. the checkbox will take forever to load. Currently it seems to block you after 7 attempts. Once that happens, switch to a different device, or different network (switch through different mobile phone hotspots). 4. Call them exactly at their opening hours (e.g. 7:30 on Friday). If you are in the waiting queue, it is your first victory. have patience for upto 30-45 minutes. They are fully overworked and overloaded, they have designed several ways to manage this overload. if you can understand it, you will find your way. They are trying their best. Good Luck.

I would have given 0/5 if I could. You dont even deserve one star. I submitted my application in March 2025, I have been waiting for over a year by now. Now I have to get another Fiktionsbescheinigung, because my application has not been processed yet, but I can not because it is absolutely disgusting to deal with you. You make people wait on the phone for over a hour and dont answer the phone. It is almost impossible to take an emergency appointment. This department dealong woth emergency appointments and residence permits are extremely UNDERSTAFFED, you should immediately appoint more employees to this. Also, your answer to these reviews are always the same, you direct people to your own feedback system. Hey, guess what this is your feedback. Take it. The way you are treating people is disgusting. Show some respect.

Wish I could give zero stars. 1 year + processing time of documents but they also give a 1 year residence permit so you have to apply every time basically, process never ends. Terribly rude gentleman hangs up on you when his german isn't sufficient when you're trying to call them for a emergency appointment. Good thing their wait times are 30min at least and closer to 1h in most cases (irony). At least get more than 1 person for emergency appointments and ideally someone that speaks german well and can express themselves without hanging up. I wish they face the same frustrating processes asap themselves. Their website for getting appointments also crash and don't work whenever there are appointments available and it returns to normal as soon as no appointments are available anymore. Hoping they get more funding to upgrade their potato powered servers. Very unprofessional in every imaginable way. Feels like you are dealing with children rather then an official body.
