Berlin is in the state of Berlin, the capital and largest city of Germany; summers are warm, winters grey and cold with occasional snow, and the dense U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus network puts most businesses within a few minutes' walk of a stop. For directions in Berlin, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Because no one writes it: This Burgeramt takes standard credit card payments, despite their website saying Girocard and cash only (but these are also accepted). The facility is fine and I had no problems transferring my driver's license here. They have photo facilities on site as well.

I’ve been here twice and have always been treated well, which is impressive for someone who only speaks English. I’d like to point out that, this is my first time dealing with German bureaucracy, so it’s important to have staff who are kind, willing to help and don’t make this experience traumatic.

Just moved to Berlin and came here today to get my Anmeldung. Great service. Special thanks to the Arabic woman who helped me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name, but she was fast, kind and spoke good English. I had to wait a while, but once my name was called, I was done in 10-15 minutes.

Very friendly staff and really quick service! Very confused to why this place doesn’t have a 4 plus star rating! Thanks for the amazing service. Cost me 45€ to change my Sri Lankan driving licence to a German one.
