I love this bookstore. So many great books for learning about any design/art and social topics. Multiple rooms filled from top to bottom with most beautiful books in those genres. Also great sales! The staff is very well spoken in multiple languages and always there to answer questions. Very welcoming feeling. In additon to that, the possibility to sit down at a lil table in the backside of the store, to check out the books in depth. Always happy to go there while visiting Berlin. Very recommendable.

An outstanding location to visit, one of my favourite bookshops in the world. Such a vast array of publications on the visual arts monographs, photography, design, fashion, historical painting and so much more. And a room filled with amazing bargains. I picked up a Toyen catalogue that was on sale in London for £120 and cost me less than 15 EUR in here! Spend as long as you like in here!

Treasure Trove for the True Believers. Architecture lovers, beware: the world is not on your side. Even Dussmann has downsized its architecture section to a lonely little shelf. Tragic. But then — there’s Walther König. A glorious exception. Hidden next to Museum Island, this bookstore is a quiet, beautiful labyrinth of art, design, and architecture books from around the globe. Floor-to-ceiling shelves, zero noise, maximum inspiration. Step inside, lose track of time — and yes, absolutely spend some money. Places like this don’t survive on love alone. With a truly rare selection and great finds even for smaller budgets, it’s a cultural gem that deserves all the support it can get. I never visit Berlin without stopping by. You shouldn’t either.

A very beautiful bookshop that focuses on art, design and architecture. It has a great discounted section where you can get very good books for a fraction of the prices. This makes them very tempting! At the same time, you have a small locked room at the end of the bookshop that houses some of the rare books and art works. A great mix of things. I love that you can buy a nice cloth tote bag from the bookshop for 2 euros. It’s very cool. I really love this bookshop and I feel at home here.
